Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis Launches Podcast on Progressive Indiana Network
Weekly Radio Program Now Available On-Demand as “The Concerned Clergy Podcast”
The Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis is proud to announce its weekly radio program will now be distributed as a podcast through Progressive Indiana Network, making decades of community conversation and advocacy accessible to a wider audience.
The program, which airs live as Community Talks on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. on Praise Indy 1310 AM and 92.7 FM, will be available as The Concerned Clergy Podcast every Thursday morning at progressiveindiana.net and wherever podcasts are found. The first episode is available now.
Each week, the show discusses current events in the Circle City and beyond through the lens of the Black church, addressing issues of justice, equity, and community empowerment that have been central to the Concerned Clergy’s mission since 1960.
“In a day and age where we need to get truth out, this platform allows us to reach even more people,” said Pastor David W. Greene, President of Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis. “We understand you can have different opinions, but you can’t have different facts. We’re committed to using podcasts and digital media to continue pushing the message out and sharing truth with our community. We’re thankful God has opened this door.”
"Progressive Indiana Network is committed to building a more just, equitable, and secular society," said Scott Aaron Rogers, founder and editor-in-chief of Progressive Indiana Network. "But we also recognize that America's prophetic voice—its moral compass—has long been expressed most powerfully through the Black church. Dr. King reminded us that 'true compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar; it comes to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring.' That call for systemic change remains urgent today, and the Concerned Clergy has been answering it in Indianapolis for more than 60 years. We're honored to help amplify their voice."
About Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis
The Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis is a fellowship of pastors and other concerned citizens who are God-fearing people who believe injustice, racism, ageism, classism and sexism to be contrary to the will of God. Founded in 1960 by Rev. C. V. Jetter, Rev. Andrew J. Brown, and Rev. Mozel Sanders, the organization brings together the resources of the spiritual community with legislative and political leaders, labor, and attorneys to effect social and economic fairness in Indianapolis. For more than six decades, the Clergy has been at the forefront of struggles for civil rights, quality education, police reform, voter participation, and economic opportunity in Indianapolis’s African American community.
