The monopoly no longer needs to exist. It's now technically feasible for anyone with the money to build a power plant and contract with NERC to get their power onto the grid. Call them PowerOnTheCheap. At that point, as a consumer, I could contract with PowerOnThe Cheap and put their meter on my house and I'm off to the races - NIPSCO, Duke Energy, suck on that!
Of course, building even a cheap, non-polluting modern nuke plant is a couple billion dollars and everyone has been conditioned to be terrified of nuclear. But this is why you see the billionaires spending heavy on nuclear. They're going to do just that. ☝🏼 And, of course, that's why NIPSCO and Duke are buying Indiana Legislators and executives - to stop it.
